Who is Alex Aff? #OfficialHype

Very few artists can let their music speak for itself and stand on its own without some backing or sales pitch from the artist. Since the release of his sophomore project “Who Knows Who Cares II”, Durham, NC artist Alex Aff has cultivated a sound and style that people seamlessly compare to the 90s era, so to say. As an advocate for lyricism and originality, Aff’s main goal as an artist is to create content that resonates with its listeners. Artist like J. Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Curren$y, and Logic serve as an influence to the young Carolina emcee/producer. With his most recent project release, “Forever”, Alex showed growth and grabbed even more attention. His fan base grows every day, and after giving him a listen you’ll understand why. It’s easy to see that Alex will have longevity in his career, and solidify his place in the industry.

As you see your self, who is Alex Aff?

Alex Aff is just a regular kid from Durham, North Carolina who wants to make music for a living and build a platform off of being himself.

Tell us about your current project?

“Forever” is the name of it. To me its just 17 songs of me expressing my mentality as a kid from Durham with dreams beyond his small town. My best work to date. It’s a sound that I can call my own and hopefully people can understand and digest well. Took me awhile to put it together. It was a cohesive collection of songs I did over the course of a year and some change.

What’s happened in your career that makes you feel this is the industry for you?

nothing specifically that was mind blowing. This was just something I’ve wanted to do since I was 16. The confirmation from the universe comes through other people’s appreciation and acknowledgement of what I do. Because at the end of the day, it’s something I started creating by myself, for myself in my room with nobody around. So other people understanding what I created for myself in solitude makes me feel like Im not crazy and this industry is for me.

What makes you the next great happening?

The next great happening sounds like Jesus or something haha. Really Im just a dude named Alex offering music that only I can and giving people my style and my vibe. I think greatness comes from just being yourself in the midst of so much influence.

Are your currently signed to a label or have any situation in the making?

No label. A label isn’t even a thought of mine at this point. Couple situations we’re working through to help things move more fluidly as of now. Working on building a solid team of professionals.

Who and what are your influences?

Im influenced by anybody that knows who they are and does what they want to do. The universe tends to work in favor of those that just do exactly what it is they want. As far as music is concerned, early on I was listening to Jay Z, Eminem, and Big L. Now it’s alot of Curren$y. J Cole is probably the artist that inspired me the most ever. Im also into Big Krit, Logic, Nipsey Hussle, Kendrick Lamar, ect.

What should people expect from your upcoming 2016 projects?

Growth.

Yep. Just to keep living good and spreading that good energy. I’ll be around.
