Recap + Pics — 2nd Annual Stance and D. Wade Spades Tournament

Stance marked its second year as the official on-court sock for the 2016 NBA All-Star Game by hosting the 2nd Annual Stance and D. Wade Spades Tournament. Along with multiple 2016 All-Stars and 12-time All-Star Dwyane Wade, Stance Punks & Poets James Harden, Klay Thompson, and Andre Drummond played in the tournament and saw mother and son duo, Chris and Robin Paul take home first prize honors. Rounding out the winner’s circle, Carmelo Anthony and Bay Frazier earned second place honors and Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade secured third place honors. The tournament marks the start to Stance’s presence at NBA All-Star weekend as the official sock brand of the NBA.

Hosted at one of Toronto’s most luxe venues, The One Eighty, the invite-only guest list was nothing shy of a star-studded turnout. NBA powerhouses Chris Paul, James Harden, Dwayne Wade and Allen Iverson showed their competitive nature off the court and on the table, competing for the tournament’s prize, a King Power watch from Hublot.

Going into the on-court action of All-Star weekend, Stance’s Fusion Basketball sock will be seen on-court during the three nights of All-Star weekend. The Friday night sock, inspired by the All-Star uniform, pays homage to Toronto and the universal appeal of basketball. The Saturday sock is a limited-edition sock designed by legendary streetwear designer Don C of Just Don and pays homage to the game falling on Valentine’s Day weekend. The pair worn on Sunday represented the Western and Eastern Conferences drawing inspiration from Toronto, the All-Star game and the NBA’s global presence.

The All-Stars will be presented with their official game socks before team practice on Saturday, along with the surprise of a Just Don hat made exclusively for the 2016 All-Stars that matches the socks. The creative design elements stood out on and off the court, truly showcasing the brand’s unending commitment to personality, functionality and style.
