Funbi Releases “Skin Tight/Don’t” Cover (WITH VIDEO)

Following the success of “Thinking Out Loud/Anytime” – his Valentine’s day mix of Ed Sheeran and Brian McKnight songs, this time Funbi brings Afro-soul vibes to a mash up cover of Mr. Eazi’s “Skin Tight” and Bryson Tiller’s “Don’t”.

Accompanied by guitarist Nsikak in the video directed by King Davies, Funbi delivers a smooth acoustic rendition of both songs against the backdrop of the Lagos National Stadium. His vocal strength shines through, bringing a fresh update to two fan favorite songs. The latest cover video sets the stage for Funbi’s solo debut. The Collectiv3 crooner, who collaborated on the hits “Adore Her” and “Sexy B%$ch” with Poe, will release his first official solo single on the airwaves and digital space later this month.

Funbi received basic vocal training during his childhood while he was a member of the Chapel of the Light church choir, which spanned through 7 years. He was heavily inspired by rappers like Tupac and Notorious BIG as well as the R&B sensation KC & Jojo. From there he went on to discover the music of Usher, Craig David, Trey Songz, Ginuwine, and even began to pay critical attention to some Michael Jackson oldies. He is currently under management with GrandCru as an independent artist and has already collaborated with a few industry heavyweights.
