Scottsdale, Pennsylvania emcee Izzy Strange has come along way since his freshman effort, “Dinner With My Enemies”. The album received a warm welcome from Hip Hop fans and blogs alike. However, Izzy was already looking at ways to further his works. He began reaching out to a select number of artists he found inspiring in hopes of locking in collaborations. The response he received was phenomenal. Now, we’ve been blessed to be able to listen to such collabs as with today’s release, “At Home”, featuring 2009 XXL Freshman clash artist, Blu.

As if that isn’t enough to get you to push play, Izzy tapped another frequent collaborator for the production end, Nate Fox. Known mostly for his work with Chance The Rapper’s The Social Experiment group, these two have a well formed bond and always seem to work well together. This track is no different. Over a buttery, head nodding instrumental, Strange and Blu trade rhymes in true old school fashion. “At Home” also continues the overall vibe of Izzy’s last two guest filled features. Those include “Fall Back” with Eligh and “Rappers Say The Darnedest Things” alongside Chicago’s Open Mike Eagle.

When asked about the cover imagery for the single, Izzy replied, “it represents trouble at home and sometimes I’m too close to the fire”. Talk about fire, Blu sounds super smooth on this production. The Cali native is also currently campaigning his dual effort alongside producer Nottz titled “Titans in the Flesh”. It’s refreshing to know Hip Hop is alive and well and Strange and Blu will continue to carry on the tradition for the culture for some time to come.

Izzy also just announced he plans on releasing a mixtape project dubbed “Stranger Than Fiction” that will include the three previously mention songs plus features from Mick Jenkins, Red Pill, Chuurch, and Tahlyn Hoburn and more. Nate Fox will be a part of the mixtape along with Cassanada, Synthinnati, Netherfriends and Strange himself. This will lead up to the release of his sophomore album, “A Good Day 2 B The Bad Guy”. Sound’s like the Beasley’s Corner Bodega founder has found exactly where he belongs, “At Home” among his music. Check out the single and stay tuned for more.
