The Alamo Drafthouse Brooklyn presents Original Motion Picture Soundtracks: The 90s

Grab your discerns, because this January the Alamo Drafthouse Brooklyn (@AlamoNYC) is celebrating the most iconic movie soundtracks from the 90s with a brand new screening series. Featuring everything from the Brit Pop of Trainspotting  to the angsty alt-rock of Pump Up the Volume to the hip hop classics of New Jack City, Motion Picture Soundtracks: The 90s begins January 2nd and will run through the end of the month.

The series kicks off in the New Year on January 2nd with a Movie Party for Wayne’s World, featuring the greatest Bohemian Rhapsody singalong ever captured on film. Later in the week, check out screenings of the techno-heavy  Hackers and Todd Hayne’s glam rock portrait Velvet Goldmine.  Don’t let the wild horses drag you away from Fear and roll with the homies to a Clueless Movie Party and quote-along on January 5th.

Later in the series, Natural Born Killers plays on January 16th, and Christian Slater brings high school angst to pirate radio in Pump Up The Volume  on the 17th. Listen to Whitney Houston belt “I Will Always Love You” in The Bodyguard on January 18th, and dance to Lou Reed with the boys of Trainspotting on the 23rd. Music from Queen Latifah, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and Busta Rhymes is on display in Set It Off on January 26th, followed by soundtrack master Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction . The soundtrack series closes on January 30th with Mario van Peebles’ debut film New Jack City, featuring acting by Ice-T and music by Color Me Badd.
