Mozzy Debuts First Studio Album Entitled 1 Up Top Ankh

Rapper Mozzy @MozzyThaMotive hails from Sacramento, California and is not so much independent as unsigned hype. He presents the life of a soldier album, 1 Up Top Ankh. Mozzy rhymes with both an anger and consciousness, but also real.  Reel to reel, the video “Afraid” featuring DCMBR is a surreal reflection of consequences.  His tape opens with a deep reflection from a dangerous mind. Overall the artist debut studio album is saturated in “beautiful struggles.”  Mozzy doesn’t hesitate to addresses Black on Black crime and injustice; aside the oppression of the system. When the beat drops the track, changes directions, into trap realism’s. These are stories of a life of pain. Clearly as a rapper, he’s spitting verses from his personal story in a new age g-funk circa Dre Dre’s 1992  album, The Chronic.

He rhymes an appreciation for life, while preying on enemies, and Bay Area hyphy instrumentals. Praying for the good life through tales of block runners. The melodic voice of Lex Aura, and multiple features of artist, Boosie Badazz, Koly P and YFN Lucci.  His lyrical content displays unity in troubled waters. He boldly paints the picture of a gritty reality. He displays prospective from the trenches and the raw skills of an emcee. TDE rapper Jay Rock, and the smooth vocals of Lex Aura once again. The track is a combination of thug love and California dreaming. The East Coast meets the West Coast in “Outside.” The track features Lex Aura, Harlem’s Dave East, and Chicago’s Lil Durk who spins out hard rhymes leaving Ducatti dust all over the track, as Mozzy holds his own amongst true emcees in the rap game. The albums production includes twisted bongos and centric samples, with a breezy up tempo.

Mozzy expresses hope and gratitude for in-house producer June who appears on multiple tracks. Celly Ru adds rap verses focused on paying dues and holding up the most high, from the ground to the sky. “Tommorow Aint Promised.” cements his lifestyle of moving hard packs. He boasts of his hood survival. Mozzy rhymes about the bay area which is steeped in tradition.. Newcomer Mozzy shows no fear on the microphone. He bears the burden of the West Coast life, yet still he validates all eyez are on him.  A known collaborator with Vamp Lyfe’s, Philthy Rich, the two recorded mix-tape Political Ties which should release soon.
