DRAM – That’s a Girls Name

Chart-topping, multi-platinum R&B singer DRAM returns with his new EP, THAT’S A GIRL’S NAME, available at all digital retailers & streaming partners today.

The 3-song EP – produced and co-written by Josh Abraham and Oligee – comes on the heels of the multi-Grammy Award nominated, Hampton, VA-bred singer’s jawdropping cover of the Outkast classic, “Prototype,” which debuted last week via The FADER.

DRAM will bring his new energetic live stage show to Chicago, IL for a much-anticipated set on this Sunday’s Pitchfork Music Festival line-up, performing directly before the legendary Ms. Lauryn Hill.

ABOUT DRAM:

Hampton, Virginia-raised DRAM, born Shelley Massenburg-Smith, stepped into the music scene over three years ago. Inspired by a range of soundscapes and artists, from George Clinton, Bilal, to Dipset and Snoop Dogg, he garnered success with his #1EpicSummerEP which was released in September 2014 and featured buzz single, “Cha Cha.” Fueled by the 6X-Platinum hit single, “Broccoli feat. Lil Yachty,” DRAM introduced his debut album BIG BABY DRAM in 2016. “Broccoli” was nominated at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards for Best Rap/Sung Performance and at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards for Top Streaming Song (Audio), Top Rap Song and Top Rap Collaboration while the visual companion was nominated at the 2017 MTV Music Awards for Best Hip-Hop Video. BIG BABY DRAM also included features from Erykah Badu and Young Thug, and has gone on to become RIAA-certified gold while earning widespread recognition from critics. The New York Times saluted the album as an “excellent full-length debut album” that’s “joyous, clever and moves in surprising directions.” The album was repackaged deluxe version was later released in December 2017 introducing collaborations with A$AP Rocky, Juicy J, Playboi Carti and Trippie Redd. In the same month DRAM served listeners with the #1HAPPYHOLIDAY EP just in time for the holidays and unveiled a classic duet with his mother, BigBabyMom. Aside from his personal projects DRAM has become an in-demand artist for numerous collaborations including Diplo’s “Look Back, “ Clean Bandit’s “I Miss You Remix,” Chromeo’s “Must’ve Been” and Gorillaz’ “Andromeda.”
