The 4th annual KAABOO Music Festival took place September 14-16 in the beautiful Del Mar, California. Just minutes away from the beach, this sold-out event included the perfect combination of music, comedy, art, and culinary pleasures. Nestled on the Del Mar Racetrack, there was much to do and just enough time in its 3-days to soak up all that KAABOO had to offer.

In the foodie moodie? You’re in the right place… KAABOO had a great selection of trendy foods that was sure to tickle your taste buds… Sushi burritos, Korean tacos, Mediterranean, dumplings, gourmet pizza, loaded nachos, and so much more were sure to satisfy your inner-foodie.

Once you’ve satisfied your cravings, you could take a stroll into KAABOO’s extensive art gallery and purchase literally anything on the floor. Shopping and a show… what more can you ask for? A surprising touch – mural art. The detailed mural art was painted live during the festival and provided as fun backdrops for Snapchat and Instagram stories.

Need a good laugh? For those who enjoy a good laugh-till-you-cry moment every now and then, there was something for you too. At KAABOO you could take a break from the California sun and chill out in the HUMOR ME room – a stage featuring comedians including Craig Ferguson, Louie Anderson, Whitney Cummings, and Kevin Nealon. A great way to set the tone of the day…

Now let’s talk about the music… KAABOO featured artists from all ends of the spectrum. From Earth Wind and Fire and Robert Plant to Katy Perry and Post Malone – fun for all ages. How many other festivals can you think of features that wide of a spread of genres and generations? Let me save you the time… there’s not very many.

The Lineup…

Day 1: Foo Fighters, Post Malone, Blondie, Halsey, Incubus, Jimmy Eat World, Gucci Mane, Nelly, and more

Headlining day one, the Foo Fighters brought all the excitement by playing all the best classics. It was no surprise they brought the biggest crowds of the night.

Day 2: Imagine Dragons, Earth Wind & Fire, Cake, N.E.R.D., Billy Idol, Melissa Etheridge, Stone Temple Pilots, Better Than Ezra, Big Boi, Bebe Rexha, and more

The Imagine Dragons brought down the house while closing out day two. Dressed appropriately for Cali-weather wearing just shorts and no shirt, singer Dan Reynolds delivered an emotional performance, getting up-close and personal with the crowd. N.E.R.D. brought the energy on day two. Pharrell Williams showing no fear, joined his fans in the crowd for an up-close and personal performance.

Day 3: Katy Perry, Robert Plant, Jewel, Wiz Khalifa, Jewel. Alice in Chains, Slash, The All-American Rejects, TLC, and more

TLC was a pleasant surprise on day three. Best known for their ’90s hits, TLC remembered their late group Member, Lisa ‘left-eye’ Lopez with an endearing slideshow while they performed the song ‘Waterfalls.’ Katy Perry brought it home by closing out on the third and final day. Being a California girl herself, she stuck to her roots and played all the greatest hits: ‘Hot n Cold,’ California Girls,’ “Last Friday Night,’ and how can we forget, “I Kissed a Girl.” Closing out the last stop of her world tour, Katy Perry was the perfect way to end the festival.

What a perfect way to end the summer in California. Pre-sale tickets are already on sale for KAABOO Del Mar 2019. Spoiler alert, if you come to KAABOO, you won’t be disappointed.
