ASHLEY BRINTON HITS 1MM VIEWS ON SONG ‘SAY THE WORD’

Following the release of her last hit single, Ashley Brinton delivers a whole new sound

Just following the launch of “Trouble” which charted on the Billboard top 40, Ashley Brinton has released a new dance song, “Say the Word.” The song also debuts a new side to the 17-year old singer that is confident, independent and bold…an evolution from her previous teen-geared hits.

The single, which premiered on September 6th and has since hit 1 million views on YouTube, carries a catchy tune to accompany a song that is fun and upbeat. If you have heard the song, you’ll understand what we mean!

The one-to-watch Artist developed the original song with Grammy Award-winning producer Cory Rooney (Jennifer Lopez, Michael Jackson, Marc Anthony, Mariah Carey, Beyoncé). Listeners will notice that the song ends succinctly and, on the beat, but this is all for a reason. Brinton wanted people to experience a strong song and feel empowered for the rest of the day. She says, “I don’t want people to feel like the song is over and they can just be quiet now. I want them to feel the emotion long after the song is over.”

Ashley asserts that she knew right away this was the song she had to release next. As soon as she got the melody down, she fell in love with it and was able to write the lyrics in just a few hours. She states “the song is so strong, but playful at the same time. When I got into the studio, everything just flowed and it all came together.”

Brinton attributes this to finally knowing just who she is as an artist and as a person. Brinton says, “When I was younger I was writing songs where I didn’t know who I was, so that reflected on my music. I knew that I loved writing about relationships, but this song changes in the sense that I know that I’m happy being strong and independent and I know now that I don’t need to rely on anyone else except for myself.”

“Say the Word” is about feeling that love is too complicated and instead choosing the stage of lust where one can really get a sense of strength, power and the feeling that you don’t need to conform to be in a relationship.

The song and accompanying music video of “Say the Word” is currently racking up views on YouTube. Fans can see a music video that mirrors how the song felt for Brinton – bold and independent. She references a lot of the 90’s and pulls from some of the vibrant colors and fun references of the era. Brinton says, “I wanted the music video to show people a story of the song without having an actual storyline.”

As for what’s ahead for Ashley Brinton, we can expect to see more of this independent side from the pop-star.  The singer shares, “I can’t change who I have come to be as a person, I can only keep evolving. This is really a direct reflection of my music now.”
