UGL and Mistah F.A.B. Are Redefining Video Game Tournaments in Oakland

Last Saturday Oakland’s legendary Mistah F.A.B. came out to support black video gamers at the Ultimate Gaming League (UGL) launch party for their 2018-2019 tournament season. The UGL’s “Halftime Football Challenge” drew acclaimed rappers F.A.B. and IAMSU along with a beautiful crowd to Halftime Sports Bar in Downtown Oakland. The Madden competitors faced off in a series of mini-tournaments, with a final win from pro-gamer Mark “Bam” Samuels, while DJ Flygerian Jeff kept the spectators dancing and the Halftime bartenders kept the drinks flowing. It was clear from everyone who experienced this launch party that UGL is giving the E-Sports world a much-needed hip-hop makeover, and that’s exactly what founders Brad Flewellen and Chuck Johnson set out to do when they started UGL. This kick-off got Oakland excited for UGL’s main event taking place on October 13th, where competitors will face off for a $2.5K grand prize and the title of BEST MADDEN PLAYER in THE BAY! Click here for info on the October 13th tournament and peep the launch party recap video below.
