Nigeria’s head basketball coach, Otis Hughley received news of family car crash after FIBA World Cup win

Nigeria’s Women’s National basketball team made history last month, when they were victories after beating Greece 57-56  in the FIBA World Cup.  The Women’s World Cup to place in San Cristobal de la Laguna, Spain.

Upon the conclusion of the tournament Nigeria’s women’s team became the first African Team to reach the World Cup quarterfinals. Dating back to the first World Championship in Chile in 1953.

During the conclusion of the tournament, Nigeria’s head basketball coach, Otis Hughley received some bad news involving his family.  His wife and kids were involved in a car accident back in Atlanta.  Per Basketball Society’s Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson and Punchng.com

Both reports stated that “Hughley’s wife, two daughters, youngest son and mother-in-law’s SUV was struck by a car that ran a stop sign.”

“I got a phone call from my daughter and she was hysterical,” Hughley recounted last night via phone.

“I thought she was excited because we won.”
