Holly Drops Eclectic New EP: Avenal 2500, on Deadbeats

Holly has been hinting at the release of a new project for some time now, and today he’s released the 4-track EP Avenal 2500, via Deadbeats.

Holly holds back virtually nothing in Avenal 2500 and displays his next level production skills and unique artistic perspective outside the comfort zone of dance music. Holly lets us know that we are entering into his most inner thoughts and privacy as the name of the album and the artwork also suggest, the name being the city name and postal code of his childhood home and the artwork is an animation of his home. Avenal 2500 is certainly a big chapter in Holly’s career as he continues his quest to conquer the global music scene.

Holly had more to words to share about the EP:

“It feels great to finally release this EP! It’s a project that reflects a lot of my Portuguese roots and is also a tribute to the place where I come from. Hope you enjoy it!”

Releasing Encontrar was the first step of unveiling his most cohesive project yet, as Holly features close friend and prominent Portuguese rapper Slow J. The strength of their connection as close friends can be captured through the vulnerability revealed by the song. The word Encontrar also means “to discover” or “to find”, insinuating an introspective journey in Holly’s career and a set goal of perfecting his craft while also staying in touch with his roots through his connection with his childhood friend. The second track of the album, Skeleton Beach featuring NastyNasty, takes on a brand new approach on bass music with its progressive nature and drops that leave the audience wanting for more but also more than satisfied. Holly demonstrates how much his artistic perspective has evolved with this song that also keeps evolving every time you listen to it.

Leading up to the release of Avenal 2500, Holly released his official remix for TOKiMONSTA and Zhu’s Light It Up, which had a premiere on Mixmag and received the number 1 spot on Hype Machine. Holly also has collaborations coming out later this summer with Bloody Beetroots, Zeds Dead, Machinedrum and Ramengirl. Holly will be making his debut at EDC this weekend, and is also playing at Zed Dead’s Red Rocks show in Morrison, CO on July 3rd and also Insomniac’s Audiotistic Festival in Mountain View, CA on July 14th.
