ronke Releases Debut Single Alongside a Video That Embraces Her Love of Movement.

ronke (pronounced ron-keh) is the distinctive singer, co-producer and songwriter behind debut release, Twil (The Waterfall is Love). She’s a South London creative that uniquely describes herself as an introverted thinker, as-well as a dynamic performer. Her first single sees ronke weave a graceful tale of make believe, courage and majestic adoration. This is a truly humble artist, that captivates audiences with her sophisticated live performance and poetic use of words. The video to accompany Twil is a skilled demonstration of movement, and shows ronke as a refined artist that uses multiple art forms for expression.

ronke has immersed herself in music and movement from a young age. Throughout her childhood, she studied powerful vocalists like Tracy Chapman, Amy Winehouse and Lauryn Hill. Drawing from her youth of eclectic inspiration, ronke enjoys incorporating dance and more quirky facets of her personality into her work. Having refined skills as a backing vocalist for George Taylor and Aadae, ronke decided to start her very first original project. Whilst constructing her first release, ronke aspired to be honest and relatable through lyrics, whilst injecting unlikely patterns and prolific melodies alongside.

As the first single from this innovative artist, Twil captures listeners and transports them to an idyllic audio landscape. ronke has delivered a simply luscious and effortless re-imagination of love. Utilizing a combination of simplistic acoustic guitar, and exhilarating percussion, ronke narrates her perfect love story through her delightfully velvety vocal delivery, executed with utterly charming prowess.

Speaking to the motivation behind Track Title, ronke shares:

‘Twil is a tale of lost love and remembering those special moments. Relationships are hard work! Sometimes it’s nice to daydream about being in love, somewhere entirely new with a waterfall backdrop. The Waterfall is Love is my daydream.’
