NIGERIAN RAPPER PSYCHOYP RELEASES MIXTAPE ‘YPSZN2’

With the success of his 2018 debut mixtape, “YPSZN” and the birth of his Apex village collective, the rapper has navigated his sound into the mainstream, making him one of the more prominent names in informed conversations about Nigerian rap in the past 18 months. With ‘SZN 2’, YP proves he can go bar for bar with anyone as he seeks to create music of a relatable variation for his generation.

The project is awash with references to YP’s motivations. This explains the decision to open it charting the importance of putting on for his city, Abuja. Other references that are constant throughout the 16 track body of work which features a host of divergent collaborators like Terri, Poe, Blaq Bonez, Apex Village, Dami Oniru, Skales, BOJ, Nathalie Sade, Zilla Oaks and Ayüü, are the joys and curses of being a rising star and remaining focused in light of the many distractions strewn on his path to greatness, stacking up the money, providing for those around him and the search for true love.
