Alan Ruck On Liftmaster, “Succession,” “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” Future Plans & More

He may be one of the industry’s hardest working actors today — recently turning heads with his work on Succession — but Alan Ruck’s role as Cameron Frye in one of the most iconic movies of the 1980s earned him legend status as his career was just beginning. Currently, Ruck is working with LiftMaster, showing how having a smart garage with a view can keep history from repeating itself. Now a tech-savvy adult with the first-ever smart garage door opener with a built-in camera and 2-way communication, Ruck has a modern-day perspective on having a garage that easily lets him keep an eye on that garage anytime, as done remotely from any place Ruck desires to do so.

On September 29, 2020, I had the pleasure of interviewing Alan Ruck via phone, as embedded below. We talked about LiftMaster, future projects, when he knew he had a proper career as an actor, and whether he knew how special Succession was when he first read the script. Beneath that embed is a visual reminder of how Ruck — as Cameron Frye — had garage-related problems in the past.

More on LiftMaster is online at www.liftmaster.com and www.twitter.com/liftmaster; Ruck, as he confirmed during our conversation, does not have an official website or social media accounts.
