Album: The LOX – Living Off Xperience

L-O-X!!! LOX fans where you at??? If you’re anything like me, the LOX were a major part of my Hip Hop loving life and it’s been a while since this dynamic trio has given us a solid group project. In my opinion, their new album “Living Off Xperience” proves their longevity in the game and delivers a great balance of that old school LOX flavor with a touch to cater to the “newer school” fanbase.

Some of the production gave me that “mixtape LOX” feel, featuring regulars like Scram Jones, Vinny Idol and Duane Darock. Additionally there’s production from Swizz Beatz, Scott Storch, AraabMuzik, Nottz, Statik Selektah, and Large Professor. Nuff said?

“Living Off Xperience” has a well balanced list of featured artists varying from DMX and T-Pain to new street favorites, Westside Gunn and Benny the Butcher.

Styles P never seems to disappoint. His album, “Styles David: Ghost Your Enthusiasm” (released May 2020) was definitely one worth checking out. It showcases “The Ghost’s” ability to keep up with the times and keep (older) fans and DJs such as myself happy. With that being said, Styles and Sheek Louch stood out the most to me on this album. I know, I know, we’re so used to it being Jadakiss and Styles P on the front line. Sheek was considered the underdog to many but I myself have always been a Louch fan. And if you’ve been following his career in the last 10 years he’s stepped his game up thoroughly. Jadakiss is one of my favorites of all time and “Mr Raspy” still comes with it, so trust me I’m not complaining! This 14 track album is a strong one. There was only a couple songs I didn’t care for but overall, this is a great LOX project.
