Unapologetic Political Rapper Paris Drops New Album Safe Space Invade

“Nobody Move” video approaching 1M views on YouTube!

New York, NY – Bay Area rapper Paris announced today the release of his latest album Safe Space Invader.

The ten-track effort was entirely self-produced and released on Paris’ own Guerrilla Funk Recordings imprint. Safe Space Invader is a brutal commentary on Black life in 2020 America, touching on police brutality, racism, gentrification, economic inequality, and cancel culture, among others.

The video for the song “Nobody Move,” released on September 11, is nearing 1M views on Paris’ Guerrilla Funk YouTube channel. The animated video pays homage to Black Panthers Party’s graphic artist Emory Douglas.

Paris’ previous album, Pistol Politics, was listed among Spin‘s 50 Best Hip Hop Albums of 2015. The vivid op-eds he penned for Vice in 2016 are still significantly in tune with current events. i.e. –

Paris hails from the San Francisco Bay Area and was catapulted onto the national hip-hop scene with his hit single and album The Devil Made Me Do It, after earning a degree in economics from the University of California at Davis. He’s garnered sales above 4 million units throughout his career, amassing a considerable catalog of anti-establishment anthems in the process. He has cemented his place in hip-hop history as one of the few artists consistently unapologetic in his delivery and assessment of issues pertaining to social justice.

Paris’ label and website, Guerrilla Funk Recordings, provides a home for projects reflecting revolutionary sensibilities and features material by Public Enemy, Immortal Technique, dead prez, E-40, WC, MC Ren, KAM, T-K.A.S.H., Tha Eastsidaz and The Coup, among others. His production continues to be in high demand. Lately, his original material has been featured prominently in various Hollywood productions, including Netflix’s current season of Hip Hop Evolution and its #1 movie, All Day and a Night. Paris’ material is also currently featured in USA network’s The Purge, the Epix network’s Get Shorty, HBO’s The Deuce and CBS’ The Unicorn, among others.
