IMPACT Wrestling’s Josh Alexander On Going For The X Division Title, Canada, Life Outside Of Wrestling & More

IMPACT Wrestling had a big year in 2020, especially making wrestling fans take notice with its new signings around July 2020’s Slammiversary pay-per-view, including The Good Brothers (“Machine Gun” Karl Anderson and “The Big LG” Doc Gallows), Brian Myers, EC3, Eric Young and Heath Miller, all of whom prior wrestling champions. As of late, AEW World Champion Kenny Omega has been making appearances on IMPACT-related programming, showing the company’s innovative (and on-going) approach to working with other wrestling companies. Meanwhile, IMPACT itself — which airs on Tuesday nights at 8:00 PM EST / 7:00 PM CST, as preceded by the Before The Impact program and followed by the IMPACT In 60 program — is regularly the highest-rated show on the AXS TV network.

One of the IMPACT stars making people talk as of late is Josh Alexander. An active wrestler since 2005, Alexander has held titles in wrestling promotions all over North America within both the singles and tag team realms. He is a 2-time IMPACT World Tag Team Champion and a 2-time winner of an IMPACT Year End Award for “Tag Team of the Year.” Currently he is in pursuit of IMPACT’s X Division Championship. And for the first time in a long time, Alexander is a fan favorite you should cheer for.

On February 19, 2021, I had the pleasure of speaking with Josh Alexander via Zoom, as embedded below. We spoke about his past, present and future with IMPACT Wrestling, his Canadian roots, Letterkenny, the “other” Josh Alexander and his wife Jade Chung’s new podcast See You Next Tuesday, among other topics. More on “The Walking Weapon” can be found online via twitter.com/Walking_Weapon, instagram.com/walking_weapon and www.impactwrestling.com.
