FireHouse’s Bill Leverty On His Solo Album “Divided We Fall,” Future FireHouse Plans & More

The band known as FireHouse first found success in the early 1990s through massive hits like “Love Of A Lifetime,” “Don’t Treat Me Bad,” “When I Look Into Your Eyes” and “Sleeping With You.” With millions of albums sold, 7 Billboard Hot 100 hits and plenty of awards and honors, FireHouse has made a big impact on the musical world. Not only did FireHouse never disband, but success as a recording and touring act never stopped for the quartet; not everyone realizes how much success FireHouse has had overseas for decades, nor how many albums of theirs have charted well.
Guitarist Bill Leverty has released 5 solo albums outside of FireHouse. The latest full-length is 2020’s Divided We Fall. As if FireHouse and a solo career were not enough, Leverty has also kept busy over the years as a producer and performer for other projects. He has also been the namesake of several guitar models and an endorser of various guitar-related accessories over the years.
On March 28, 2021, I had the pleasure of speaking with Bill Leverty via Zoom. Technology-related problems were not kind to the first 25 minutes or so of our chat, but luckily the last 30-ish minutes of our conversation were salvagable, as embedded below. Leverty is one of the nicest interview subjects I have ever encountered and unbelievably-accommodating, as you will quickly observe from this conversation. Fortunately, he has kept busy during the COVID-19 between a few (distanced, smartly-produced) FireHouse gigs, freelance productions and solo livestream gigs via StageIt.
