0IMPACT Wrestling’s Sami Callihan On Wrestling Kenny Omega At “Slammiversary,” Ohio, TV & More
IMPACT Wrestling has started off 2021 strong, recently making headlines with this month’s Against All Odds pay-per-view. IMPACT’s next big televised event will be Slammiversary on July 17, 2021, as airing via the IMPACT Plus! network. Meanwhile, IMPACT Wrestling itself — which airs on Tuesday nights at 8:00 PM EST / 7:00 PM CST, as preceded by the Before The Impact program and followed by the IMPACT In 60 program — is regularly the highest-rated show on the AXS TV network.
One of the IMPACT stars who has people talking is Sami Callihan. Callihan became the company’s World Champion in late 2019 after defeating Brian Cage within a steel cage. While being World Champion of IMPACT Wrestling was far from Callihan’s first title reign, it was significant in showing that the Ohio native could be “the face” of a major wrestling company. Fast forward to July 2021, and Callihan will be challenging Kenny Omega at Slammiversary for IMPACT’s World Championship. This follows recent high-profile feuds with Ken Shamrock, Rob Van Dam and The Good Brothers.
I had the pleasure of speaking with Sami Callihan again on July 13, 2021 via Zoom, as embedded below. Besides Slammiversary, we spoke about Ohio, The Misfits, Dave Chappelle, Katt Williams and what he is watching on television these days. More on Callihan and Slammiversary can be found online at www.twitter.com/TheSamiCallihan and/or www.impactwrestling.com.
