Drummer Michael Musselman On Working With David Lee Roth, Future Career Plans & More

I first learned about drummer Michael Musselman in January 2020 when he was one of the musicians backing Van Halen singer David Lee Roth at the House Of Blues in Las Vegas. Roth’s residency in Vegas briefly led into touring alongside KISS before COVID-19 would shut down the touring world. That left Musselman off the road for the rest of 2020, like most high-profile musicians.

Michael Musselman studied under legendary drummer — and current Ringo Starr All-Starr Band drummer — Gregg Bissonette before graduating from the Musicians Institute in 2012. His credits also include work with Keith Urban, Jaden Smith, ¿Téo?, Ryan Cabrera, Pretty Sister, and Figs Vision. Musselman also has a band of his own called MainMan, which made a splash with the single “W.W.H.”

On October 20, 2021, I had the pleasure of speaking with Michael Musselman via Zoom, as embedded below. More on the L.A.-based musician can be found by following his official Instagram account.
