Bilingual singer-songwriter Melissa Calderón is gearing up to release a seven song EP in 2022. Originally from Colombia, Melissa applies a wide range of musical influences to what she does, creating a unique and versatile sound that resonates with audiences all over the world. Accustomed to sounds like merengue, reggaeton and many more, Melissa also found new influence after moving to Florida when people introduced her to new artists that tapped into her love for R&B. Lately, she has been listening to musicians like Dua Lipa and Ariana Grande, two artists who have given her the confidence to be the strong female figure that she can be. But when she is looking to escape, artists like The Weeknd still remain her go-to vibe for a good time.

Impressively, Melissa also comes from a background in filmmaking, where she enjoyed channeling her creativity into the visual elements of a project, which uniquely applies to her music career today. The element of storytelling through filmmaking is something that has strengthened her songwriting skills, as she is always thinking steps ahead when trying to deliver her fans a clear story through lyrical and instrumental expression. In 5-10 years, she hopes to see her career in a spot where she is the most comfortable being herself and sharing her personal stories with fans that she can always inspire. She hopes to use her platform to give back to the community and eventually, wishes to tap into different artistic mediums like film and television, not only on screen but, behind the scenes as well.
