Ally Brooke & Taylor Gray On The New Film “High Expectations,” Soccer, Future Projects & More

High Expectations is an inspirational story about the goals we set for ourselves and how we can realize those dreams despite many setbacks and disappointments. Jack Davis (played by Taylor Gray) finds himself adrift after his father, the legendary Coach Davis (played by Kelsey Grammer), cuts him from his renowned soccer club, the Carolina Mantis. Estranged from his father, at odds with his brother, Mantis All-Star goalie Sam (played by Adam Aalderks), and desperate for purpose, Jack turns to his ex-girlfriend Sophia (played by Ally Brooke) and is inspired by her quest to become a recording artist.

The film debut for pop singer Ally Brooke (formerly of the girl group Fifth Harmony), High Expectations features a title track performed by Brooke. The film also stars legendary U.S. Goalkeeper, World Cup Champion and two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Brianna Scurry, who portrays the first-ever female coach of a professional men’s soccer team. Directed by Jonathan Southard and Christopher D. White, the film was produced by Kristinn Thordarson and White of CDW Films. It will play in over 850 movie theaters nationwide for one night only on April 7, 2022; tickets can be purchased by visiting www.fathomevents.com and/or through participating movie theater box offices’ ticketing services.

On March 30, 2022, I had the pleasure of speaking with both Ally Brooke and Taylor Gray via Zoom, as embedded below. More on the film and its stars can be found online by clicking here, here and here.
