Roya1 Shows Off Talent On New EP ‘Nasty’

Music is more than simply a job and a goal for Roya1: it is what has guided him. It’s been an important part of his life from his childhood in Northern California, as he’s tried to discover his own path. “[Music] kept me out of trouble for a long period when I was younger. It’s been my therapy and my haven till now.” He grew motivated to improve over time as a result of his interest. Even now, instead of focusing solely on becoming a recording artist, his biggest achievements are in being a better engineer and producer.

The more concerned he grew with the noises around him, the more motivated he was to push himself to improve. “Competing with myself, as well as discovering new, fantastic music, keeps me stimulated.” He was a sponge for new sounds because to his early exposure to genres like Neo-soul, rap, and jazz. It’s one of the reasons why his music has such a wide range of applications today. Roya1 was already thinking about being a musician when he was 15 years old.

The songwriter from the Bay Area is a rapper with a wide range of tunes and a talent for dark lyrics that sets him apart from the competition. Many of his songs have a nocturnal feel to them, making them ideal for late evenings. With his new Nasty EP, which is out today, he’s set to give fans his latest offering. Roya1 concentrated on crafting a project for the females in his fans, tapping into his sensuous side. “This project is about embracing the sensuous aspect of things, such as love, passion, and pleasure,” says the artist. “Do I Have Permission,” a homage to his naturally flirty tendencies with women, is one track he’s pleased to share from the album. Look for the rapper to make some noise this year, as he already has another record in the works.
