What really goes into making a great record? Fundamentally, you need to have a talented singer, a good songwriter, a skilled producer and a competent audio engineer. Each of these roles are vital in establishing a high quality record. The synergy between a singer and songwriter is arguably the strongest, closely followed by that of a producer and an audio engineer. As such, in some cases the singing and songwriting can be done effectively by the same person. Similarly, the production work and audio engineering is closely associated enough for it to be done by the same person as well. However, it is almost impossible to find someone who can effectively do it all! Finding someone like that would be the equivalent of discovering a real life “unicorn”. This is exactly why there is so much intrigue behind the talented and vastly multifaceted artist known as “Aja The Writer“.

“Aja The Writer” simply has no conceivable weaknesses! She can literally do it all. Her unmatched ability to seamlessly create an entire record by herself from “start to finish” is simply stunning! Aja handles all the singing, songwriting, production and audio engineering elements in most of her songs. She does all of this exceptionally well. Take for instance, her first ever single, “FRIENDS DON’T” which became an instant hit. Everything about that song is captivating. The lyrics are very relatable and create a palpable sense of empathy among listeners. In the song, Aja touches on the very confusing and perplexing nature of a “friendship” that resembles an “intimate relationship” but is still classified as “just” a “friendship”. She expresses discontent with being limited to just a “friendzone” state, especially since both parties clearly desire more than just a friendship. “FRIENDS DON’T” is just one of those records that will have you “in your feelings”, whether you’re a man or a woman.

Throughout the song, Aja immaculately expresses the frustrations associated with feeling deep emotions of love which still remain unresolved. These strong emotions are conveyed by the powerful hooks, “Friends Don’t Love Like This” and “Friends Don’t Touch Like This”. The same sentiments are reiterated by “Chosen Duke” who features on the song as the male counterpart. He alludes to his desire to continue exploring the love they have but without committing to a “relationship label” just yet. Having these slightly contrasting perspectives creates a bit of a dilemma between girl and the guy which just further adds to the emotions and quality of the song! Aside from the lyrics, the rhythm and melodies of the song are just riveting! The instrumental is as good as it gets for any “R&B Soul” record. It would be an understatement to say the production work and audio engineering was excellent. Everything about “FRIENDS DON’T” is just delightful and it is testament to the amazing talents possessed by “Aja The Writer“
