The Hype Kingdom Catches Up With Artist on the Rise Ms. Day!

Fresh to the Gospel & Inspirational scene, Ms. Day is one of the premier Female Hip Hop / Rappers you must follow in 2022.  After having much success with her latest single “I’m Me”, which blazed the radio charts and received placement on VH1’s Black Ink Crew Chicago, Ms. Day has been expanding her brand of artistry on and off the stage!

Hype Magazine:  So Ms. Day, tell us a lil about yourself and what you’ve been working on outside of music?

I hate talking about myself.  Lol!  Well…. I’ve been working on transitioning into TV. Not just radio.  I’ve been fortunate to be a part of this great show called The BOTTOMLINE!  I host it alongside with DJ Ms. Eclectic and Taleah Kelly.  The chemistry we bring will have y’all laughing.  We make the perfect team, I enjoy working with them.

Also, I took part in a short film which is called Angel’s Palace.  This movie sheds the light on Human and Sex Trafficking, which is equivalent to Modern day slavery. My part was only about 5 mins or so, so if you use the bathroom, you might just miss me! Lol!  Nonetheless, I play a victim who gets kidnapped!  It’s real out here and people are getting snatched, so you got to stay on alert.

Hype Magazine: Why did you choose this side of music versus the mainstream route like artists such as Cardi B, Latto, and other female rappers?

To be honest, I never thought I would be in a studio making music.  As I got older, I found myself being around the industry.  Then one day an opportunity presented itself, I asked God if this was for me? If so, download me some bars because a sister is no singer singer.  I mean, I can hit a note every once in a while, but….  Nah, it’s just not my thing. I leave that to CeCe Winans.

Hype Magazine: How did you feel once you heard that “I’m Me” was going to be placed on VH1’s Black Ink Crew Chicago?

It wasn’t till I actually saw the show that it all hit me at once.  This industry is known for pumping people up just to let you down at times.  It could be nothing personal, but they just change directions on what they want to do from time to time. But, when I finally saw it!  I was like, yes! So having my song placed was definitely one of the highest points in my music career thus far. It’s really an honor, you know, because everyone is not as lucky.

Hype Magazine: When are going to release more music, and do you have an album coming soon?

Well, I just recently did a collaboration with my brother William Cata.  We really had fun putting the project together. It is something different for me, y’all just got to hear it.  I’m thinking it will be dropped before the end of April.

Also, I have a single that will be hitting the streets on May 21st, which is the day I will be sharing the stage with Mali Music at the Gospel Hip Hop Awards. My talented sis A’sha is also a part of it, so y’all already know.  As far as an album. It’s in the works. You got me thinking. I might just drop a second single on the 21st as well.

Hype Magazine: Well, since you brought it up.! We see that it was announced that you were going to be one of the Headliners at the Gospel Hip Hop Awards with Mali Music and Jor’dan Armstrong. How does that feel?

Both of those men are super talented, so I know I’m going to have to step it up.  This will be an amazing experience. I feel so blessed and nervous all at the same time! Lol! I’m excited, I know it’s going to be fun. I love doing shows with the Vets in the game because it forces me to level up.

Hype Magazine: Thank you for sitting down with us, are they any last words for our readers?

Keep God first, stay prayed up! Be AUTHENTIC in who God has called you to be! Some people may not understand your mission, but that’s ok because it’s between you and God! God has a purpose for everyone and he does not make any mistakes.  He made you that way for a reason!

Love and Blessings!!
