Detroit’s Lance Hitch Drops Classic Body of Work ‘Who Did I Become’
Detroit native Lance Hitch has created a classic in his latest album “Who Did I Become”. This strong body of work is a call to his past and a look at his future as a hip-hop star.
Lance Hitch has always had a passion for music. He began writing at 12 years old, and joined a rap group with his cousins called T.C. in his younger years. A true innovator at heart, Lance never wanted to sound like everyone else in Detroit. His time moving around the Midwest and the south fortified him as a cultured, multilayered individual who could never be boxed into one lane. This diversity shines through in his music, notably his latest album “Who Did I Become”. On the title track Lance Hitch reaffirms this thought almost as if it were a question from his younger self, vying to know the truth of where the future would take him. On songs like “No Weapon” and “Detroit”, he showcases the bravado and flow developed from years of building a brand in the Motor City. Later in the project, on tracks like “Letter 2 Myself” and “Breakup Anthem”, Lance slows it down and gives clarity to some of his more introspective thoughts. All in all, “Who Did I Become” is a perfect statement on Lance Hitch’s growth since his genesis as a kid in Detroit.
