Pauly D On Working With MTN DEW, Action Bronson, Touring Plans, Zack Clayton & More

Reportedly, there is no better place than Hell to welcome back by overwhelming demand, MTN DEW FLAMIN’ HOT. So good in fact, that not only is MTN DEW FLAMIN’ HOT — not only an ideal meeting of spicy and sweet, but also the Official Drink of Hell… Michigan. Thus, MTN DEW went “To Hell” with MTN DEW Flamin’ Hot last weekend and they did not go alone. As part of the event To Hell With MTN DEW FLAMIN’ HOT on April 30, 2022, DEW fans from across the country were invited to join in on the fun, as joined by Jersey Shore star DJ Pauly D and acclaimed rapper and chef Action Bronson.

Per the aforementioned Pauly D: “When MTN DEW asked me to go to Hell, I thought they were messing with me. But then I realized they wanted my help to make Hell even hotter with my fire beats. There is no one better to bring the heat. Yeaaahhh buddy!” Added Action Bronson — an undeniable foodie and New York native — in a prepared statement: “I had a blast coming up with these recipes for MTN DEW FLAMIN’ HOT and I mean who else can say they whipped up the finest grub in Hell?”

I had the pleasure of doing Q&A with Pauly D about MTN DEW and plenty more, as transcribed and printed below. More on Pauly D and MTN DEW can be found online by clicking here, here and here.

How did the opportunity to work with MTN DEW and their team come up?

Pauly D: Well, MTN DEW told me to “Go to hell.” (laughs) I kind of thought it was a joke, I thought they were messing with me, but come to find out we’re going to Hell, Michigan, which we are in now. Here we are in Hell for Flamin’ Hot MTN DEW and that’s a huge event with Pauly D. I’m happy to be here.

You’re part of this exciting event in Hell, Michigan alongside Action Bronson. Have you actually ever met him before this?

Pauly D: I have never met Action Bronson before this and I’m excited to meet him. He seems like a cool guy.

Is Flamin’ Hot your favorite flavor of MTN DEW?

Pauly D: Flamin’ Hot is my favorite flavor of MTN DEW. I love it. It’s my go-to. I love MTN DEW and I love spicy, so this is perfect for me. Spicy and sweet.

MTN DEW aside, what’s coming up for you?

Pauly D: So coming up for me is I’m currently on tour. I have a lot of great shows coming right up, especially my residencies I have in Las Vegas with the TAO Group. I do all of their properties now. Marquee Day Club, Marquee Nightclub, TAO Beach, we’re doing Hakkasan, Omnia… Pretty much all their venues in Vegas and then also Chicago and New York we do Marquee and TAO in New York and then also a residency in Atlantic City where I do The Pool After Dark.

You have maintained a high level of fame and success for close to 15 years. When did you realize this was going to be your career?

Pauly D: I was always a dream of mine growing up to take DJ’ing to the next level and make that my career. Never did I ever think would actually be able to make that happen, so the fact that I did and do and am is a dream come true for me. Every night it’s still surreal to me.

I know you’re primarily known for playing dance-oriented music sets, but when you’re asked to play a rock-oriented set, are there any go-to artists or songs that you usually throw in the mix?

Pauly D: I love a challenge and I love a curveball, so I love throwing a crowd a curveball. It gets such a good reaction and a rock curveball would probably be Bon Jovi, maybe “Livin’ On A Prayer.” Everybody knows the song so they sing it, and throwing that into the middle of the dance set is epic if you can pull it off.

What was the first concert you attended?

Pauly D: The first concert I ever attended was New Kids On The Block… I was so excited, my aunt took me.

Finally, I had the pleasure of interviewing Zack Clayton this year. Do you think Zack is a future world champion?

Pauly D: I do. Zack is a beast, and if anybody’s going to do, it’s going to be that man.
