DJ and Entertainer Aaron Colbert Shares His Career Goals

Aaron Colbert is a top DJ and entertainer taking over the industry. He is the founder of Aaron Colbert Entertainment, a leading consulting and booking agency. His vast understanding and mastery of the entertainment industry have seen him work with and perform on some of the top stages, including Skybar, Mondrian, Delano Las Vegas, Bar Marmont, Kimpton La Peer, Ogara Coach, Lamborghini, Bentley, Coachella, The W Hotels, Virgin Voyages, Oscar celebrity Lounge, NYC Fashion Week, LA Fashion Week, and many others.

Aaron started DJing, aged 15, at his local roller skating rink and has never looked back. He has grown over the years, putting himself through college by working as a barback, bartender, promoter, and later as a manager. Serving in these roles allowed Aaron to gain vast experience in the food and beverage and hospitality Industry. This experience saw him smoothly transition into the LA market, helping him grow into becoming the head bartender at KOI and food and beverage director at The Standard Sunset.

A self-made DJ, Aaron says he has faced numerous challenges and hurdles, most of which helped shape him into the entertainer he is today.

“The most difficult part is to keep re-inventing yourself and not becoming creatively stagnant. Most people think being an entertainer/DJ/music director is all about having fun,” explains Aaron. However, he explains that to become successful, you need to be dedicated and keep working on your skills.

To everyone working on their dreams, Aaron emphasizes never giving up. More importantly, never become complacent. Continuously reinventing yourself is how you stay “in the game.” Taking time for yourself to recharge is of the utmost importance. This is especially true when it comes time to be creative. To put yourself in a space to create, you have to step away and recharge your batteries.
