Chef Michael Symon On This Year’s New York City Wine & Food Festival, Working With Diplomático Rum & More

Since being named a “Best New Chef” by Food & Wine in 1998, Chef Michael Symon and his restaurants have been awarded numerous honors. In 2000, Gourmet Magazine chose Lola as one of “America’s Best Restaurants,” and it has been named “Cleveland’s Best Restaurant” on 18 occasions. Beyond Lola, Symon and team have found success with Mabel’s BBQ, Roast, Bar Symon, Angeline and B Spot Burgers, while Symon has also become a best-selling author and a renowned television host.

Having worked with Diplomático Rum for several years, Chef Michael Symon is currently part of the spirit’s “Heart of Rum” campaign. As part of this, Symon has created recipes that emphasize incorporating high-quality ingredients (e.g. Diplomático) into your cooking and cocktails. Symon has also been busy this month as a participant within this year’s Gods Love We Deliver-supported New York City Wine & Food Festival, alongside Marcus Samuelsson and other industry-leading chefs.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Chef Michael Symon via Zoom on October 17, 2022, as embedded below. More on Symon and has various projects can be found online by clicking here, here and here.
