“I’m Totally Fine” Stars Natalie Morales & Jillian Bell On Their New Film, Nicknames, “Plan B” & Upcoming Projects For Them

In the new film I’m Totally Fine, Vanessa (played by Jillian Bell) embarks on a solo trip to clear her head after the death of her best friend Jennifer (played by Natalie Morales). But Vanessa’s self-care vacation takes a detour when she finds the recently-departed Jennifer standing in her kitchen, claiming to be an extraterrestrial. Together they spend the next 48 hours partying and reminiscing on better days in a sci-fi comedy that — pardon the corny pun, folks — can be described as “out of this world.”

Directed by Brandon Dermer, I’m Totally Fine was written by Alisha Ketry. It also stars Blake Anderson, Harvey Guillén and Kyle Newacheck, coming from the producer of Workaholics and What We Do In The Shadows. It will hit theaters, on-demand and digital outlets alike on November 4, 2022 via DECAL.

On October 27, 2022, I had the pleasure of speaking with I’m Totally Fine stars Jillian Bell and Natalie Morales via Zoom, which you can watch here. Besides I’m Totally Fine, we talked a bit about nicknames, friendship and what both actresses/writers/producers — Morales directed the Hulu-released feature Plan B, which The Hype covered via an interview last year — having coming up in the near-future.
