Fredo Murphy talks his 2023 plans with The Hype Magazine

Frederick Murphy Jr, better known as “Fredo Murphy” is a rising star in today’s entertainment industry. Early in his career, he was mostly known for his athletic ability on the court but, the young star has his hands in quite a lot of work! Fredo Murphy has been seen modeling for brands such as New York rapper Dave East’s FTD clothing brand, 2018 NBA Champion Nick Young’s clothing line Most Hated Player, 2019 NBA Champion Serge Ibaka’s underwear collection with brand Topik Wear, music video features and Fredo Murphy is also currently filming for a new TV series releasing soon named “Forever High”. We had a chance to interview the rising star himself and Fredo Murphy has a lot in store for those who support him next year!

Nice to have you with us, Fredo Murphy, where are you from?

I appreciate you guys for having me! I was born in Louisiana but, I spent a lot of time in Atlanta, Georgia early so you’ll see a lot of places have my hometown down as Atlanta.

We know you can ball but, how did you get into modeling and acting?

Well— I picked up on modeling kind of young and it was something I knew I wanted to do as I got older. Not too many people know this but my mom put me in a school pageant in elementary school. You had to walk down this aisle in this auditorium in formal wear right? I remember I had on an all-white suit, I even had a fedora haha! That’s really where it all started for me, shoutout to my grandma Jeanette, she tailored that suit for me and I placed 2nd. I felt like they were biased but it’s all good haha! As I got older though I was taking my own pics, putting the filter I thought made it look as professionally shot as I could with what I had, and then posting to Instagram and Twitter. Back then, I didn’t have a ring light or anything so it’s dope to see how far everything has come in a span of like 10-11 years and how you can network today. It was just me, my phone, and my dreams not too long ago haha.

What motivates you to be who you are?

I’m inspired by the hard times I came from. Even my friends and fam had to go through struggles of their own and they’ve told me or I witness it growing up. When you come from a tough beginning and finally get some peace in your life, I feel like you don’t EVER want to feel that pain you felt growing up again. That’s all the motivation I needed for anyone going through a tough time. You’re only going THROUGH it, don’t stay there!

2023 is approaching, what can we expect from you?

Okay so— Early 2023 I’ll still be filming a TV series I’m in called Forever High. I love the cast I’m working with and the passion everyone has for it makes me that much more excited about it. I’m doing cameos in different shows, I’ll be on my Twitch channel more, my own video game release, fashion walkways, vlogs and day to day recordings. I know a lot of people have asked me about basketball and I’ll have an announcement for that soon too. It’s a lot on the table for me and that’s a blessing in it’s own but once a few things get confirmed I’ll have more i’m able to say about my moves. In the meantime to stay in tune with me follow me on Instagram @FredoMurphy , Youtube FredoMurphy and Twitter @TheFredoMurphy.

Word of advice for someone pursuing goals like you are?

Stay consistent and relentless. The moment you quit is when you actually take the “L”. You don’t have to have this crazy plan in the beginning, just put yourself out there and network! The right team playing their roles will change your entire life. Love.
