0Live Session with Michael Bow of the CW Series ‘Kung Fu’
Dope Live Session with actor, director, and writer Michael Bow, who stars in the hit CW series “Kung Fu,” where he plays K-pop star warrior, Simon Lau. Due to the overwhelming love of the fans/viewers, Michael’s character was brought back to life with a surprise return to the new season (after previously “dying,” in the last). The series makes history as the CW’s first all-Asian cast, and can additionally be found streaming on HBO Max.
Michael’s previous credits include “Hacks,” (HBO Max) “The Maze Runner,” “How To Get Away With Murder,” (ABC), “Grey’s Anatomy,” (ABC), to give the short list. He also portrayed one of the first Asian Male love interests in the teen drama “TURNT.”
Great conversation covering the defining moment that made Mike choose entertainment as a career, the historic significance of the series having an all-Asian cast, and of course we had fun talking about the original series. One of the key answers to why he does what he does is that Bow aspires to use his voice and platform to push past the barriers of Asian stereotypes. One of the best hours I’ve spent in conversation this year…tune in!
