However, Strahan’s trip isn’t just about showcasing the island’s beauty and history. He also investigates how climate change is impacting the environment and people of Easter Island. He discovers that the moai, as well as the island itself, are under threat due to the effects of climate change. Additionally, he examines the impact of plastics in the surrounding waters, which break down into microplastics, and the ongoing efforts to maintain the safety and health of the ocean and its inhabitants.
On Tuesday, Feb. 28, Michael Strahan will co-anchor his first live television broadcast from Easter Island, followed by another live appearance on Thursday, Mar. 2, on “Good Morning America.”
“Good Morning America” airs Monday-Friday (7:00-9:00 a.m. EST) on ABC.
