Red Bull BC One, the world’s most prominent global breaking competition, is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated 2023 U.S. Season. Spanning from May to August, this premier 1 vs. 1 battle will witness the nation’s finest breakers compete for the opportunity to represent the United States in the Red Bull BC One World Final, set to take place in Paris, France in October 2023.

The 2023 season will feature regional qualifiers, known as “Regional Cyphers,” held in three iconic American cities: Orlando (June 17), Minneapolis (July 29), and New York City (August 12). Each regional stop will showcase a lineup of invited contestants (wildcards) and winners from city competitions, which are open to all breakers and held in Columbus, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Seattle, Honolulu, Denver, and Boston. The thrilling journey culminates at the Red Bull BC One National Final, an electrifying event scheduled to take place in Philadelphia.

During each Regional Cypher, sixteen talented “B-Boys” and eight fierce “B-Girls” will battle their way through a cutthroat 1v1 knockout bracket. A distinguished panel of esteemed breakers will determine the regional champions who will advance to the Red Bull BC One National Final in Philadelphia.

The season serves as a celebration of Breaking’s soaring popularity worldwide and its remarkable growth since its emergence from the roots of hip-hop culture. It pays tribute to the local communities and visionary breakers who have propelled the urban sport into a new era of mainstream recognition through their seamless fusion of artistry and athleticism. Red Bull has been a vital force in connecting and nurturing break communities globally since 2004, resulting in Red Bull BC One becoming a highly respected and established breaking event.

To enrich the experience further, Red Bull BC One Camp USA will take place in Philadelphia from Friday, August 25 to Saturday, August 26. This event offers a weekend of workshops and panels led by world-renowned breakers, culminating in the Red Bull BC One Philadelphia National Final. Sixteen of the nation’s most exceptional B-Boys and B-Girls, comprising both regional champions and wildcards, will battle fiercely for a coveted spot at the historic 20th Red Bull BC One World Final, scheduled to be held in Paris on October 21st.

To commemorate the competition’s return and the forthcoming National Final in Philadelphia, Red Bull BC One organized a kick-off event in collaboration with Second Sundae at Silk City Philly. Second Sundae, a celebration of house music and a thriving dance hub in Philadelphia, hosted a pop-up cypher featuring intense 1v1 battles. Esteemed judges and breaking legends Flea Rock and Red Bull BC One All Star RoxRite presided over the event, while DJ Fleg provided the beats.

With more than two decades of cyphers, workshops, programming, and World Finals held in over thirty countries, Red Bull has undeniably cemented its legacy within the break space, pushing the boundaries of breaking and propelling it to new heights.
