This special event, a triple bill performance, brings together the esteemed Young People’s Chorus of New York City (YPC), the renowned Yale Glee Club, and the much-exclaimed baritone, Lester Lynch. The event celebrates Dr. King’s life and marks a significant milestone in YPC’s journey, opening doors to enhanced educational programs and support through their College Bound initiative.

Dr. Jeffrey Douma, director of the Yale Glee Club, expresses excitement about this collaboration and emphasizes the thrill of working with YPC to celebrate Dr. King’s enduring legacy.

The program for January 14 has been thoughtfully curated to honor the iconic civil rights leader, featuring songs selected to resonate deeply with the audience. Notable pieces include “Joy,” with lyrics by Langston Hughes and music by Ricky Ian Gordon, “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands” arranged by Lester Lynch and Noam Faingold, and “Lift Every Voice and Sing” performed in collaboration with the Yale Glee Club and Lester Lynch.
