Sasha Miro on Techno Poetry: A New Music Genre on the GRAMMY Red Carpet

In the ever-evolving landscape of the music industry, Sasha Miro, known off-stage as Aleksandra Tikhomirova, has carved out a niche that’s entirely her own. With the creation of “techno poetry,” a genre that marries electronic music’s pulsating rhythms with the evocative depth of classical literature, Sasha has not only established herself as an innovative artist but also as a source of inspiration for women everywhere. Fresh from her attendance at the 2024 GRAMMYs, we caught up with Sasha to discuss her groundbreaking work, her journey from entrepreneurship to music, and the messages she hopes to convey through her art.

Welcome, Sasha! Was this your first time attending the GRAMMYs?

Yes, it was, and what an unforgettable experience it was! Being at the GRAMMYs, especially so soon after releasing my first single, felt like a dream. It’s the kind of moment every artist imagines, but experiencing it in reality is something else entirely.

The red carpet is iconic. What was that like for you?

Walking the red carpet was exhilarating. It’s a unique blend of excitement, nerves, and sheer joy. Being surrounded by so many talented individuals, all celebrating the magic of music, was truly inspiring. Despite the nerves, I felt a profound sense of belonging and achievement.

Your genre, “techno poetry,” is incredibly unique. How did you come up with the concept?

Techno poetry emerged from my desire to blend my love for classic literature with my passion for modern music. There’s a timeless beauty in the works of Russian authors like Dostoyevsky and Bulgakov, and I wanted to introduce these narratives to a new audience in a way that’s accessible and engaging. The idea was to create music that’s not only enjoyable but also thought-provoking, using the power of electronic beats to amplify the emotional depth of poetry.

There’s much anticipation for your EP. When can we expect its release?

I’m thrilled to announce that my EP will be coming out in April 2024. It’s been an exciting process, and I can’t wait to share it with the world.

Could you tell us more about the themes explored in your new tracks?

My upcoming tracks delve into themes of love, passion, and the human experience, drawing heavily from classical literature. I believe in the power of genre fusion to highlight the relevance of classic works in today’s world. By integrating quotes and motifs from literature into my music, I aim to create a unique listening experience that’s both entertaining and enlightening.

Which artists at the GRAMMYs particularly inspired you?

Billie Eilish made a significant impact on me. Her authenticity and musical brilliance are truly inspiring. She represents what I admire most in an artist: genuineness and the courage to be oneself, unapologetically. Her presence at the Grammys was a reminder of why we create music—to express our true selves and connect with others on a profound level.

Were there any challenges you faced during the Awards?

Indeed, the weather was not on our side that day. A massive storm meant we all arrived soaking wet! Despite this, the experience was memorable, illustrating that a bit of rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of music’s biggest night.

Attending the GRAMMYs must have been significant for you. Why was it important?

Releasing my first single just before the GRAMMYs made attending the event particularly meaningful. It was essential for me to feel connected to the music community and to celebrate this pivotal moment in my career among peers who share the same passion for music.

Your music carries a profound message. Could you expand on that?

At the core of my music is the message of love—recognizing it as the most surreal and powerful force we can experience. Beyond just romantic love, it’s about fostering a deep love within ourselves and for the world around us. Moreover, I aim to inspire women to embrace their inner light and potential.
