Philthy Rich Releases “East Oakland Legend” Album ft. Too $hort, Kamaiyah, Yukmouth and more

With over 100 mixtapes/albums under his belt, Oakland veteran rapper Philthy Rich returns today with the release of his full length project East Oakland Legend. With so many legendary artists coming out of The Bay, and Oakland in particular, Philthy came up with the plan to showcase all Oakland talent on this project; from past generations of artists like Lil D, Yukmouth and Too $hort to the newer generation like Cookie Money and Kamaiyah.

This past month, the rollout has been a nonstop machine. The music videos such as “East Oakland Legend” (1 million views), “Don’t Forget” (1 million views) and “Big 59” (330k views) off of the project have been getting rave reactions from new and old fans alike with that translating over to Spotify with over 400k monthly listeners. Today the visual content shows no signs of slowing down with the release of the “Break The Bank” video featuring Kamaiyah. With the tech boom in Silicon Valley spreading gentrification over the bridge into Oakland, Philthy shows the raw side of Seminary that remains true and untouched throughout all of this visual content.

There shows no signs of slowing down through the rest of 2019, as Philthy already has another project almost completed. Philthy explained, “It’s time for Oakland to get the recognition it deserves as it has birthed a lot of styles that other regions have ran off with, we gotta bring the torch back home. This is for East Oakland.” In the meantime we hope you enjoy East Oakland Legend and stay tuned for more visual content off of this project releasing in the coming weeks.
