Russian EDM-Pop Princess Annie Sollange Shows Dating Apps’ Worst Men in “About You” Video

Anyone who has used a dating app knows how bad online dating can get. For Russian Electro-Pop artist, Annie Sollange, she takes it to the next level by creating a neon nightmare dedicated to dating apps’ worst.

The video, directed and edited by Lara Aslanian, begins with Annie entering her neon world with a mixtape to begin her electrifying track with EQRIC. Moving on from a broken heart and a bad ex, Annie jumps back into the dating world with five different men entering her enchanting apartment. However, each date turns out to be a nightmare in their own way.

A self-absorbed influencer, an aggressive muscle head, obsessive songwriter, prudish nerd, and a lethargic stoner make up the cast of Tinder’s least wanted in “About You.” Annie’s reactions to these men is hilarious as she attempts to find love with each of these terrible matches. Complete with lavish set design, well-executed art direction and Sollange’s dance moves, the video is a much watch.

“About You” was written about a love that has run its course. When the person is holding you back and you can’t take it any longer so you decide to let them go. Annie lets him know exactly how she feels in “About You.” Annie’s raw lyrics and bold energy is refreshing and fun. She is both captivating in her honest lyrics and the instrumental made with EQRIC make the track a stunning single. While her latest single, Annie has held a long career in the music industry.

Beginning her career in New York as a DJ, Annie decided to move to Los Angeles to focus on songwriting. “Songs are easier to write under the palm trees when your crystals are charged” she jokes on her motivation moving to Hollywood. Two months after leaving she got the Golden Ticket for American Idol which inspired her to write more than she ever had before.

Her first single, “Gemini” achieved over a million streams and from there she dived fully into electronic music. “About You” marks Annie’s transition into a more pop-leaning sound. With electronic tinges mixed throughout, Annie positions herself as someone to watch in the coming months who will be sure to shake up the industry. From the looks of it, Annie has a future brighter than the neon colors around her.
