R&B Singer Drew Peckat Looks to Set the Vibe with Debut Single “Get It From You” Dropping Nov. 22

Rising R&B singer Drew Peckat plans to bring a refreshing new look and sound to the music industry. Not only that, he is fully intent on contributing to the resurgence of what he refers to as “real R&B,” music that is transparent, vulnerable and open about a topic many artists are too prideful to talk about nowadays – love. Well, on November 22nd, the world will be formally introduced to the Midwest crooner by way of his smooth and melodious new single, “Get It From You,” brought to us by Species Entertainment and Make It Happen Management.

Peckat, born in a suburban Michigan household outside of Detroit, was captivated at a young age by artists like Boyz II Men, Joe, Usher, Trey Songz, and Chris Brown. As the middle child of seven, he often envisioned himself on stage rocking the crowds. Little did he know that at the age of 16, the divorce of his parents and the tumultuous years ahead, including health scares that nearly cost him his life, and homelessness would ultimately help him to develop the metal to take on the entertainment industry.

Now, every performance Peckat does, he receives standing ovations from raucous crowds impressed and pleasantly surprised by his skill-set on the mic. His voice and stage presence gives him all the makings of a star. Peckat’s ability to to take listener on a journey that incites various thoughts and emotions helps him deliver an experience that people from all walks of life can relate to. This is seen in “Get It From You”, a pure vibe engineered at the hands of producer Dre Butterz.

“My music is based on my personal experiences, so it is all real, it’s all authentic,” he Peckat said. “When I made this song, I was dealing with a breakup from someone I really loved. The feeling that I need was gone because she was gone.”

Hip-Hop is the dominating force in music right now and even R&B has had to compromise its essence in order to appeal to the demand. However, there appears to be a change on the horizon. The appreciation of good music from R&B/soul singers is making a comeback and Peckat plans to be front and center.

“We need R&B to come all the way back,” he said. “That feel good R&B. That old school love shit where guys are grabbing the air and thinking about a girl. It’s going to come back. We’ve had about 15 years of the same stuff, people being too cool to show real emotion. But the responses I get from people who hear my music is proof that they are hungry for R&B.. I think [it] will make a really big comeback and will be number one. “
