Magic Giant Releases New Single “Disaster Party”

Vibrant and refreshingly upbeat, MAGIC GIANT is shaking things up with the release of their new single “Disaster Party,” out now via S-Curve Records. Inspired by the LA fires, “Disaster Party” finds the silver lining in adversity as a community comes together:

“The band was out in the valley recording at a studio that almost got consumed by flames. The neighborhood got together and created their own mini force and fought the fire themselves when needed,” the band recalls. “When everyone was gathered at the center before evacuation, it was the first time some neighbors who absolutely lived within a few houses of each other for years ever shared a word.”

“The energy in the air wasn’t static. It was electric. For the first time it was not a neighborhood but a community. That kind of meeting, those real words exchanged, are a Disaster Party.”

“Disaster Party” takes this electricity and shows MAGIC GIANT expanding on their alt/indie folk roots into a more alternative-pop influenced sound. Fans can catch it live at MAGIC GIANT’S upcoming single release show at Troubadour in Los Angeles on December 4th, or at their co-headline tour with American Authors, kicking off January 16th.

About Magic Giant:

Since 2017 MAGIC GIANT, comprised of Austin Bisnow (lead vocals), Zambricki Li (viola, banjo, harmonica), Zang (acoustic guitar, cello), has been captivating audiences across North America and Europe.

Over the last few years, the “Cool as Folk” act (LA Weekly) has played shows with the likes of Foster the People, Mumford & Sons, The Lumineers, Vance Joy, The Revivalists, and more. They were also dubbed “the most festive band in the festival circuit” (Dujour), with appearances at Coachella, Firefly, BottleRock, Electric Forest, and Lightning in a Bottle.

Named one of “10 Artists You Need to Know” by Rolling Stone, MAGIC GIANT made their national TV debut on the Today Show and were singled out by Billboard as one of “10 Awesome Bands” playing Coachella in 2018. Their style has been described by NPR as “upbeat, passionate indie-folk” and by Billboard as inspiring “mass dance-alongs.”

MAGIC GIANT is more than just music; they committed to planting a tree through a non-profit partner with every album sold at shows, and have already created a mini forest with thousands of trees. The band is also dedicated to building a community through their music, throwing an annual 4-day gathering in the Redwoods for their fans called Camp Misfits.

MAGIC GIANT has been busy making their forthcoming studio album from The Bunker, a 1940’s underground bomb-shelter that they converted into a recording studio in Silverlake, CA. In the meantime, they’ve kicked off a brilliant new era with “Disaster Party” and are inviting everyone to dance along.
