Rod Wave Releases New Version of “Ribbon in the Sky” for Amazon Music’s Emo Trap Playlist

Today, rapper-singer Rod Wave (Alamo/Geffen Records) released a brand-new, reimagined version of “Ribbon in the Sky,” an album favorite off his debut album, Pray 4 Love. Available only on Amazon Music, the new track strips the song down to a single piano and Rod Wave’s powerful, singular voice. The song is featured as a part of Amazon Music’s brand-new Emo Trap playlist, highlighting the best of hip-hop in its feelings.

“The song is important to me because it’s about overcoming what we’ve been through growing up at the bottom,” said Rod Wave. “There’s a lot of people who want to see you fail, and I made this song to remind myself to block them out and keep going.”

Rod Wave’s Amazon Original follows the release of his highly anticipated debut album, Pray 4 Love, debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Rap Albums chart and debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Pray 4 Love also snagged the title for most streamed album of the week, with 105.8 million on-demand streams. The 14-track album embraced Rod Wave’s lyrical versatility and emotional range; from the introspective musings of “I Remember” and “The Greatest” to the gritty, original version of “Ribbon in the Sky.” The project includes production by TnTXD, SpeakerBangerz and Drum Dummie. In addition to the album, Rod Wave recently unveiled his latest video for, “F*** The World,” directed by Brett Arndt.

Amazon Music listeners can find Rod Wave’s “Ribbon in the Sky” on Amazon Music’s Emo Trap playlist. In addition to Rod Wave, customers will find new and emerging tracks from YNW Melly, Masn, Trippie Redd, Lil Skies and more. Customers can also simply ask, “Alexa play the new song by Rod Wave” in the Amazon Music app for iOS and Android and on Alexa-enabled devices. In addition to the new track, Amazon Music listeners can access hundreds of Amazon Originals featuring both emerging and established artists across numerous genres, available to stream and purchase only on Amazon Music.
