More about Jenius
Julius-Alexander “Jenius” Brown is a Toronto-born music producer who reserved his seat in the music industry in the early years of his childhood. Proving that age is only a number, Jenius grasped the art of music production and began making beats with early direction from his dad at the mere age of eight years old.
His unstoppable conviction to make music had him in and out of recording studios across Toronto, Los Angeles and Atlanta before even graduating high school. At age 15, he connected with world-renowned producer Wondagurl, which set his career in motion. Jenius’ persistence landed him groundbreaking collaborations with award-winning artists like Travis Scott, Tory Lanez, Don Toliver, Jack Harlow, Sheck Wes and Pop Smoke, all by the age of 18. In 2019 and 2020, his work on KILLY’s Surrender Your Soul and Light Path 8 albums also earned him back-to-back Juno nominations. In 2020, Jenius landed two Billboard #1’s for his work on JACKBOYS and Pop Smoke’s Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon.
Jenius’ unapologetic sense of self allows him to actualize his creative impulses at the snap of his fingers. His natural instincts and free-flowing mindset are his defining attributes and foster a musical blueprint that cannot be replicated. He prides himself on the versatility of his sound, which allows him to be adaptable and approachable to every artist.
Jenius is influenced by the real-life interactions happening around him and strives to bring that level of authenticity into his work. At the end of the day, he wants his music to be an endless source of inspiration and representation to elevate the lives of his listeners.
