The Band of the Hawk in Houston & The Architect from Cali collab to release “Weapons”

These days artists can email or use social media to contact each other for collabroations in the studio, on stage and on screen. With the current issues the pandemic brought on opportunities for artists to adapt or crumble, The Band of the Hawk decided to adapt.

With a few DM’s on IG, The Band of the Hawk from Houston, TX collaborated with Oakland, CA producer The Architect. He has produced for Planet Asia, The God Fahim and done work with Adult Swim and Stones Throw. A few emails later and a 2 week deadline, The Band of the Hawk completed a full length project called “Your Sneakers or Your Life” scheduled to drop on April 1st.

The first single off the collab project is “Weapons”. If the gritty sound doesn’t do it for you, then listen to the 5 crazy verses from these emcees from Houston. Anyone paying attention to the BOHUP Crew (The Band of the Hawk Underground Pyramid) know that they get busy in the booth,but this is the first time we hear them outside of their resident sound provided by Noah Archangel. This time with the backdrop from The Architect, the Hawks surf on beats that have that 90’s hiss boom bap sound. “Weapons” is 1 of 8 songs on the project, but easily the best to lead with as all the Hawks fly to another level.
