Who Is: Tim Ned

Who is Tim Ned and where are you from?

Tim Ned: music producer/ artist/ songwriter is known as a triple threat. A breath of fresh air is a great way to start off the conversation when hearing the hunger and passion that displays in the music. I live in Houston, Texas but I was born in Ft. Worth, Texas. I grew up being a military brat so I was fortunate to be able to travel the world at a young age and exposed to all different types of music.

How did you discover your musical talent?

I always had love and interest in music when I was very young, I always had an interest on how the music was actually made. I remember being 8 years old at Radio Shack with my mother and she kept asking me what I wanted for Christmas. I walked around the store until I spotted this Casio keyboard. I hit one of the key on the keyboard and fell in love instantly, the sounds the different keys blew me away. Right then I knew, now matter what, music is want I wanted to do.

Who has been your greatest inspirations musically and why?

My father was a great inspiration for me growing up. His selection, taste and appreciation towards the art was beyond the limits to me. He would always tell me to listen to each part in a musically piece, from the lead vocals to the bass and how it flows along with the melodies. It was really weird to me because while he was pin pointing these different elements.

Pharrell Williams, the second half of The Neptunes is a great inspiration to me. From the time I heard the productions for NORE, Britney Spears, No Doubt, Jay Z to the band they created N*E*R*D changed my life as a musician.

What do you feel you offer the music industry that we don’t already have in order performers?

I feel I will bring a new fresh creative sound to the industry. I feel people are still in search of that awesome goosebump feeling back in music. I’m here to bring back that feelin and give the people what they been hunger for.

Have you encountered any problems in getting to this point in your career?

I wouldn’t call them problem, I would call them a growth points. I would say just getting my music heard in a proper way because of the saturation of this music industry. Everybody thinks they are djs, rappers, singers or producers. A kid can buy a laptop today and download fruity loops and call his self a producer. I came from an era of working in my bed room with a microphone hanging on my ceiling fan, four track recorder, and playing each instrument live to a looped pattern I made from a drum machine. Through it all, I still push like it was still those days now.

What do you want people to get from your music?

A brand new sound and feeling that they have experience before. I want them to dance, be happy, cry, turn up, and just escape from their everyday lives.

When can we expect some new music from you?

Very soon; I’m working on some production work with some major artist at the moment. I am pushing my new single “Black Diamonds” which is available now on itunes, amazon, google play, etc.

What has been your greatest achievement so far?

I was able to land another TV placement for a reality show, on a record I produced and wrote.

If you could collaborate with one artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?

It would have to be Pharrell Williams. He has been killing the game for years. This is a producer and an artist I look up to. His taste on putting music together is unexplainable. The energy in the records effect some much and the style of it,  you cant place it in the box. With the ability to combine different styles of music into one record is amazing.

One track of yours that you think defines you and why?

This a hard one, because I believe every record of mine defines a piece of me. If I have to pick one it would have to be “Concrete Heart On Fire” this a record I have on my up and coming project. Its based on a kid that is labeled “different”  but never changes due to the pressured situation. Able to rise above from the hardship and continue to lead his life on love for everybody.

Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!” moment…

Recently at SXSW I saw dudes wearing skirts. I’m talking about your hardcore thug rappers wearing leather skirts….where they do that at?!
