0A Look At This Year’s NYCWFF, Plus The Hype’s Interviews With Chefs Marcus Samuelsson, Andrew Zimmern & Rick Bayless
The Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival presented by Capital One — NYCWFF, for short — is New York City’s premier culinary event. The Festival celebrates 15 years of successful existence this year with its current festivities, which launched on October 13, 2022 and run through October 16, 2022. Delivering more than 80 events and over 400 chefs from around the world, the NYCWFF offers a variety of tastings, seminars, intimate dinners and late-night parties, with 100 percent of its net proceeds supporting NYCWFF’s mission to EAT. DRINK. FEED NYC. through God’s Love We Deliver.
Among the one-night-only collaborative meals hosted via the 2022 Festival’s exclusive provider Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits within its Intimate Dinner Series are Alain Ducasse, Dario Cecchini, Alon Shaya, Carlton McCoy, Lauren Von Der Pool, Yotam Ottolenghi, Dani García, Chintan Pandya, Sohla El-Waylly, Daniel Boulud and Kyle MacLachlan. Meanwhile, Robert Irvine, Andrew Zimmern, Carla Hall, Duff Goldman, Alex Guarnaschelli, Marcus Samuelsson, Geoffrey Zakarian, Katie Lee and Anne Burrell are among the celebrated chefs taking the stage in front of a live audience at the Festival’s 135,000 sq. ft. culinary playground, Grand Tasting, as featuring Culinary Demonstrations presented by Liebherr Appliances at Hudson River Park’s Pier 76. Further showing the diversity and appeal of the NYCWFF was its 15th Anniversary Dessert Party, as sponsored by Average Socialite and hosted by Kalen Allen, which featured a special performance by Run-DMC’s Rev Run; a clip from Run’s performance at The Venue on Music Row at Hard Rock Hotel New York can be watched here. Meanwhile, actress and New York Times bestselling author Jenny Mollen hosted Rooftop Rosé at the newly opened RT60 Rooftop Bar & Lounge at the Hard Rock Hotel New York on the same day as Run.
Between NYCWFF and its sister festival SOBEWFF — which takes place each February in Miami Beach — more than $48 million has been raised to benefit the respective charitable partners of each Festival. Below are interviews I taped with Chefs Marcus Samuelsson, Andrew Zimmern and Rick Bayless last year for The Hype Magazine, as tied in with their loves for New York and/or the Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival presented by Capital One.
