Poppy Seeds Launch The Jeannie Collection

Local designer creates new Spring/Summer 2016 collection with something for every body type

Poppy Seeds has just launched their “Jeannie” Collection which Danisha Brown, the genius behind Poppy Seeds, speaks of as a “beautiful vacation.” The swimwear and styling, inspired by “Jeannie” from “I Dream of Jeannie”, takes a look back but always stays current in fashion and on trend. This collection displays a different perception of “Jeannie” and what she would look like today.

Mrs. Brown is the Designer and Founder of Poppy Seeds. She attended design school locally at the Art Institute of Indianapolis and conclusively started her own line of decade and fantasy inspired swim and cruise wear. Poppy Seeds is all about using pops of color and unique textile collaborations to create a look that appeals to a variety of women. Bespoke, or custom, pieces have not become a thing of the past, as this designer is building a loyal clientele who want swimwear and clothing designed to fit their specific measurements. It is rare to find a brand which makes one feel beautiful and confident while in a swimsuit but Mrs. Brown has achieved just that for all of her clients. “I work persistently creating designs that I know women want to wear. Every woman needs to wear clothes that are flattering. You might not ever be a size 0 or have 5% body fat but you have to learn to fake it until you make it and dress for your shape” says Mrs. Brown.
