Black female horror director Carla Saunders premieres ‘GPS’ film in Atlanta

Horror fanatic Carla Saunders, a former extra on Tyler Perry films, has now churned out a series of riveting, startling and stomach-churning horror films and thriller movies in recent years that she’s financed on her own.

Mimi Faust, center, joined some of the cast at the premiere.

Her latest is the independent horror film GPS, the tale of a group of people who wound up in a destination far different than the one they intended — and the horrific ramifications they incurred. The St. Louis import-turned-Atlanta resident held her red carpet premiere at the Landmark Midtown Arts Cinema near Piedmont Park along with many of the cast and crew.
