Five Question with Cody Tyler:

As you see yourself, who is Cody Tyler?
Well…(sigh) .. Cody Tyler is a guy who is a kid at heart. He’s this person who has seen the dark points to discover his light. When I say light I mean his love or in other words purpose. That purpose being none other than music. It’s like his whole life is a testament to having an open mind and iron will, for example, you could view his life as the ” David VS Goliath” philosophy. He has single-handedly built his music brand by himself and is only at the beginning. He’s a figure that is the voice for all of the underdogs and those who need to know that they can do and achieve anything they want no matter the circumstances. Cody is and will always be real and is chasing to bring Hope and add swag with it of course!! He is the “Modern Day Martyr” and the “LightKidzleader”!

Tell us about your current project?

My current project I am extremely excited about!! It’s my debut LP appropriately titled “LightKidEra” which also is my first professionally recorded full-length project. I spent a full year writing it and during that time I had just moved here to California to further my musical career. I didn’t know anyone really and needed to find a new studio to record it and a job and etc! That year recording gave me so much insight to my strengths and ways to juggle my emotions. I remember writing every song on the album almost like videos. It’s like it really caused me to delve deep within and helped birth my perspective of myself as an artist. All the challenges I had that year added to help channel the emotions they caused. I remember one night I had gotten frustrated and took a break and hopped in the shower, & started listening to the beat for “LightKidEra” I got a vision for the song and then right after I got the hook and sang it the whole time showering! I can’t wait to release this. I mean it’s been so long and being patient and now it’s here! The album is slated to release October 25th 2017 through myself and partner over at “On The Grind Management ” Jeremy Cohen.

What’s on your bucket list to accomplish as an entertainer?

My bucket list is still being worked on LOL… But as of now, I’d say the first is to go on a world tour and each show as I perform a song called “believe with me” have all the fans hold hands! Also during that set, I’d have some of my staff hold out candles but the flames would be purple. I want to have my entertainment label “PurpleandStars Ent” partner with St.Judes Children’s hospital for cancer research. I need to write and also have number one singles throughout my career … I know without a doubt I have tracks I’ve written not recorded and recorded that are already that ( no arrogance intended). Another is with my buddy and partner over at Original Generation Clothing Alan “Og Reezy” Reese which is to go to England and France step out to the clubs in big mink fur coats and then after bringing a huge crew back and eat BBQ Ribs while having the coats and all still on LOL! The Paparazzi films and were like “ayyye you knoooowwwww” LOL!!

Will you be finishing out 2017 on the road or what’s on your horizon for 2018?

As it stands I’m not sure if I will be on the road to end this year or not. But honestly its a very strong possibility! For 2018 I know for sure that we will be getting my upcoming short film “Fighting darkness” underway with director A.M. FINE who directed my video “I’m Ridin”. Also, I’m believing things to be fully in place to tour stemming from whomever I sign with and I’ll be collaborating on writing for other artists as well as releasing more music. I currently have 2 follow-up albums to “LightKidEra” already done and working on another. I can’t express how much love I have for the craft of music SMH.

The Hype Magazine wants to know: What’s been your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?! Or “WTF?!” moment thus far in your career?

I remember when my single “Mine” went viral I got my first official show in Miami beach during art basel .. so that performance I killed it!! This lead to myself and friends going out after and we were LIT!! So it’s like 4am and were heading to an after party with some girls and the guy hosting was on another level and starts flipping out and takes his shirt off and he’s like “throw on some 2 Chainz, throw on some 2 Chainz!!” as he’s saying this his girl was embarrassed and looking away as he’s dancing oddly with his sunglasses on and he yells “Cody my nigga.. you know 2 Chainz right… you kinda sound like him ….what’s that fuckin song doooooggg!!?” I look at my boy Pedro like “aww hell noooo!!” For one he cannot call me “NIGGA” and two…WTF?!!
