Five Questions With ‘DOPE$ELLIT$ELF’ series creator RaRa
Hustle Gang’s RaRa, surprised fans with the second installment of #DopeSellItself this past Christmas morning. The 16 song- mixtape features remixes from DSI1, with a host of new bangers. Features include rappers like Eastside Jody, Rico, Ricco Barrino, Hustle Gang labelmates Tokyo Jetz & Translee and more on the project as well.
The Hype Magazine got RaRa to weigh in on a few things regarding his current releases and what’s up in 2018:
Tell us about your current projects!
My current projects are #Dope$ellIt$elf (Nov. 24th) & Dope$ellIt$elf2 (Dec. 25th). The next project I’m releasing will be #TheRealOne (Date TBD)
Do you feel your current project is the best introduction to you as an artist?
I feel my current projects are experiments to see what my audience likes from me, the most reason being is because my sound is a lil different from most because I do trap rap as well as backpack rap. I definitely feel like my newest project #therealone will be my best introduction to the world!
What do you most enjoy about the ‘work’ of making music?
The thing I love most is creating the beat. Finding the right sample, right concept & revisiting a place from my past in my thoughts & bringing it out on the song!
What’s on your horizon for 2018?
For 2018 I plan to tap into my fullest potential as a producer/artist:
- Putting My Hood #Decatur on the map & producing for the artist from the area,
- Putting out my breakthrough album #TheRealOne,
- Releasing my clothing line #DryCleanOnly
The Hype Magazine wants to know: What’s been your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?! Or “WTF?!” moment thus far in your career?
Every day is a moment like that for me honestly because of the transitionI’m goin thru as an artist. At the moment people do “WTF” “Where Dey Do That At” shxt every day to me from friends to family to fans I enjoy it all! it’s great for my music!
